Job Objective:
The Supervisor, Check and Digital Payments is responsible for assisting the Manager, eDocument Management in providing exceptional internal and external service, achieving organizational goals, and fostering department growth and staff development. This role ensures compliance with policies, procedures, and regulations in item processing, remote deposit capture, and other department operations. The Supervisor acts as a Subject Matter Expert for Check21 item processing, remote deposit capture, research, adjustments, and subpoenas, staying current with industry trends and recommending new products and solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise up to 5 Check and Digital Payments Specialists, ensuring exceptional service.
- Oversee daily operations, including branch check scanning, electronic check and item processing, and remote deposit capture.
- Manage monthly phone support, daily transit, inclearings, remote deposit capture, returns, share draft exception processing, and bank by mail processing.
- Provide backup support for document management and electronic signatures.
- Handle capital and operational budgeting, vendor management, and disaster recovery.
- Address inquiries and complaints from members, internal stakeholders, and vendors.
- Develop and implement systems and procedures that are cost-effective and meet user requirements.
- Monitor and document project goals, assign tasks, and ensure timely completion within budget.
- Write, submit, and test Technical Service Requests (TSRs) to update or implement new system functionality.
- Create performance goals and deadlines aligned with corporate, enterprise, and departmental goals.
- Coach, train, and mentor staff, providing constructive feedback and ensuring exceptional service.
- Assist in recruiting, selecting, and training new employees.
- Conduct weekly team meetings to enhance teamwork, share information, and improve productivity.
- Compile statistics and financial data, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Maintain the Business Continuity Plan for all Check and Digital Payments processes.
- Support branches and departments with operational practices and training needs.
- Monitor and review changes to products, services, procedures, and regulations to ensure compliance.
Supervisory responsibilities:
- This position reports directly to the Manager, eDocument Management. All Check and Digital Payments Specialists may report to this position.

Other Education, Skills, and Abilities
- High School diploma or equivalent; 2-5 years of experience in document processing within a financial institution.
- At least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Check21 item processing and remote deposit capture.
- Advanced understanding of credit union policies, procedures, and accounting principles.
- Excellent quantitative, interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities and the capacity to train, direct, develop, and motivate others.
- Technical aptitude for analysis and problem-solving.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and familiarity with IT systems, servers, and infrastructure.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Excellent ability to communicate, both verbally and in writing; ability to tolerate periods of continuous sitting; ability to lift to 10 lbs.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
- Work is primarily performed within a cubicle office setting; subject to background noise found in an office environment and from production scanning equipment.
Note: Staff are expected to perform various tasks, projects and administrative duties as assigned.

Salary Range
$66,560.0000 - $77,622.6500 / year
